Here at Funky Futon we care about our world and have made sustainable practices a priority within our organisation. Many manufacturers base their operations in Asia, with little care for the environmental cost and workers conditions. All Funky Futon products are manufactured in the UK as we believe in selling high quality, fairly made pieces.

Sourcing Responsibly

All of our Products have zero container miles and we use as many local suppliers as possible, which is easy as we are based in the golden triangle of UK bed manufacturing, West Yorkshire.

Packaging and Recycling

We recycle more than 95% of our waste through return of fillings and fabric off cuts to recycling converters. All surplus saw dust and off cuts are supplied to a local farmer and used for heating and animal bedding. We use up to 30% recycled plastic bags for our mattress packaging and these are retained in our warehouse to re-use time and time again, vastly reducing our plastic use.

High Quality Products and Materials

Our handmade range of futon sofa beds, low level beds, futon mattresses and fresh loose covers are now more popular than ever with new ranges in Tri-fold and Bi-fold bases. We also offer bespoke products which are unique to Funky Futon and not available anywhere else.

We have the best selection of frames and we do not use any hardwoods in our manufacturing process. All of the timber we use originates from FSC or PEFC accredited source mills in Scandinavia.   We make all of the bases in our factory in Leeds, UK and all of our futon mattresses are made from only high quality cotton fillings.
