Our Shiki Bed Base is a, Unique Frame, supporting any bed or futon mattress, these frames can be used at low cost to give any mattress a simple yet strong base, able to add the ventilation gap required of Futons and Bed Mattresses, these are not imported items available on multiple websites, we make these ourselves to order.
The Timber is Rebated on each side to give a neat look, where slat ends are not visable, all three panels are fully finished and screwed together, we hate Flat Packs, and try to offer all our products made and assembled in the best possible way, these will go through any door and onto the bedroom you require for.

Our Workshop Specializes in making high end products at the Lowest Possible Prices, all made in the United Kingdom, this is why we can offer such a massive range of sizes and finishes, unlike our competitors who have little choice and offer only the popular double and king size models in unfinished pine, we have invested in our team and have a full time finishing sprayer, unlike most imports or cheaply made joinery, we can finish all our frames to a high furniture finish for a very low price, for such work, we stain with water based stains in popular palette colours, we then spray with a sealing varnish and softly sand, once dry, we spray with a satin clear varnish, this is one area, you can be duped, and even pay more for, Not many Futon Manufacturers have their own Spray Booth, so will merely just wipe a coloured stain onto the pine, this can easily be missed and you receive a Dull Piece of Furniture.

Great bed base, great service
Amazing customer service! Funkyfuton made a Shiki frame and adapted it to my specifications, making it in two parts so that as my child grows, it can be used with an adult mattress, as well as with the child length mattress now. Perfect! I also have a king sized one for myself. It's absolutely ideal, and holds "normal" mattresses fine for those of us who like soft and squishy beds to sleep on!

Well built and very comfortable
I’m extremely pleased with our bed base and the service I received. The bed is well made, comfortable and just what we were looking for to safely bedshare with our child whilst ensuring the mattress gets air air circulating around it. I was phoned to arrange a delivery date and the bed arrived promptly and well packaged. I would definitely recommend both this bed and Funky Futon generally.

The Shiki bed base was delivered about three weeks ago along with the Luxury Wool Mattress. The base is easy to assemble, incredibly sturdy and has a delicious pine fragrance which fills the bedroom.
