Our Zen Beds are our Own Design, and the price shown is for two beds and two futon mattresses of your choice, these beds have nylon locating pegs which mean these beds are secure and will not move, unless lifted off to provide either two single beds or pushed together to form a large King Size or Super King Size Bed.
We make two sizes either Small Single which is best if your buying to form a Simple Sofa, we can manufacture cushions at an extra cost, or you can simple buy your own, which gives you more choice, Standard Single Bed Size is Ideal if you require Extra Beds and Love a Full Size Day Bed, you will not find, any similar beds complete with quality thick futon mattresses that are as strong or priced as complete packages to these, Made to your Order so if you require Bespoke Sizes " Please Ask "

Our Joiners make Heavy Duty Beds, which if built correctly and Slats screwed down will give many years of good service, all corners are supported on hardwood dowels and locked together with bolts through timber, this gives a corner joint far better than bed brackets used on most pine bed these days, we use extra thick side rails rather than the common 2 cm sections we use extra thick 3 cm timber on bed frame.
Unique design means the slats are level with the side rails and the futons lay on the side rails so, mattresses are close together, as beds and for people using as stacked sofa are more comfortable to sit on.

I highly recommend this company, who were a pleasure to deal with with. I had really good guidance from Andrew when I was deciding on options for the beds and would buy again without hesitation if I needed another pair of beds. I love the concept of the beds, which makes my spare room so versatile for guests and use otherwise. After I discovered stacking beds exist it took me a while to find a set that I wanted to buy, which ticked all the boxes. It was quite apparent that this company offered the quality and value for money I was looking for. Putting together the beds was a breeze, with a bit of guidance from the lovely delivery driver. Ideally construction is a 2 person job but it could be done by oneself with a bit of care. Ease of build and quality of the materials puts Ikea to shame. We went for the sprung mattresses, which are super comfy and the larger sized beds, which are definitely generous enough for an adult to sleep in.

2 stackable beds
We purchased this item so we had a spare bedroom for guests. The beds are very well made and with the pocket spring added are very comfortable. The added bonus is the beds can be used as 2 singles or a double.I would certainly recommend them.
Amazing guest beds
I had my eyes on this pair of beds for my narrow guest bedroom. I wanted a bed that could be either two singles or one double, and because I also use that room to hang my laundry, I wanted a bed that would take as little space as possible that when there are no guests. And that's exactly what these zen stacking beds do! They were easy to build (still best to have 2 people for it, and to lift one bed on top of the other) and very easy to move across the floor (we have wooden flooring) to split them or bring them together. I didn't have guests yet sadly, but I did get to sleep on the beds while repainting another bedroom, and I cxan say after a coupole night that they are very comfy to sleep on! Beds did not slide apart either. I also got to lie down with them stacked and there was no problem either. I was very happyu with the customer support too. I got fabric and wood samples before buying, which decided me to get an upgrade on the fabric as I loved the colour and feel of the Aqua Clean fabric. In the end, I managed to get exactly the beds I needed thanks to the support and options! Funky Futon also kept me in touch with he delivery date & time.
Stackable beds
We love our stackable beds! Really comfortable, great for our new loft space. Andrew and colleague delivered and assembled them (for a small extra cost). Friendly, helpful service. Would definitely recommend.
Zen beds
Massive thanks to Andrew & co for advice and effort in getting the beds to us on time for our family arriving. The guys who delivered them for us were great in accommodating our logistics on a Friday night and they had them built in situ very quickly. Beds are sturdy, look great and our grand-daughters (12-13), after four nights, still say they are very comfortable. Great job done by all! 100% recommended.
Excellent beds; great service
From start to finish, I had a really good experience with this company: samples were sent promptly (and with good advice on suitable options); delivery arrangements were very efficiently handled; I paid a bit extra to have the beds built up for me (which was done extremely efficiently -- all packing taken away too, which was great); and the beds themselves are perfect: well-built, compact, comfortable. In short: highly recommended!
Bought stacking futons for spare room in June 18. I am told that they are fine to sleep on stacked ( not tried separately yet) & I'm anticipating their usefulness for family at Christmas. I bought the light oak which I find a very pleasant colour. My only regret is not checking swatch colours in advance ( bought in a hurry for guests arriving) as I find the mink a rather depressing rather than a neutral colour for the bluish room they are in. Husband was glad of the putting them together service as would have taken him a lot longer he reckons. Overall service excellent & helpful on the phone.
Zen Stacking Beds
I have had these beds a couple of months day and I am really pleased with them. I got the dark stain with dark grey covers and bought four large soft cushions to put at the back. It looks great, is very good quality and well made, and the most important thing very comfortable. So pleased with the whole process very obliging and informative company.
Zen Bed
The entire thing is very good quality, the wood, fabric, mattresses and they fit perfectly together. The concept is brilliant, great for a corner or two sofas, a teen room sleepover, double bed for couples, or even guest in a separate spare room as they are easily moved. As they are solidly built it does require two people with adult strength. The team were very helpful as I wanted something for a growing teen boy to use as his permanent bed, they advised a pocket sprung mattress for so mini springs were put inside the futon mattress which has proven a better option than a normal futon. Delivery was easily organised and came as arranged. Great service, great product, made in this country which is a rare thing these days, very happy.
Review Zen Stacking Beds
I needed sofa beds for my spare room as family were coming to stay for Christmas. I searched online for options and came across the Zen Stackable beds from Funky Futon. They were different to the usual sofa beds you can get (which I had always been very disappointed with in the past) and these seemed to fit the bill perfectly. The price was good also for the obvious craftsmanship that went into making them. They appear to be made individually. I ordered them online which was easy enough to do. There are plenty of options for size, wood, finish, mattress etc. so the customer gets what they want rather than having to make do with a mass produced product. I rang and spoke to Andrew regarding delivery and building of the beds onsite and he was more than helpful and obliging. The beds arrived on time and the delivery guy who put the beds together was efficient and very friendly. I am extremely happy with these stacking beds, they are a quality product and made by craftsmen. I would recommend the Zen Stacking beds and Funky Futon without hesitation.

Brilliant Zen Stacking Beds
We wanted a bed/sofa combination for a loft room that is mainly used By our kids as a PlayStation/TV room. Needed it for Christmas and wanted to make sure that both the sofa and bed(s) were comfortable as we have always found that sofa beds usually aren’t. We weren’t sure which product size or mattress style/type to opt for for I rang the company and spoke to Mark. Mark could not have been more helpful. He is clearly passionate about his company and products. He explained and recommended the best solution for us and left me feeling very confident that our purchase would work out. The Zen beds arrived before Christmas as promised. The 2 very helpful delivery men put them together for us which was a huge bonus at such a manic time of year. The sofa is really comfortable and the beds are amazing. All the adults and kids that have slept on them have agreed that they are really comfortable. Can’t that Mark and FunkyFuton enough for the help we received and their truly excellent and very personal service. This is a great company!
Stacking Bed
This is my 2nd purchase from Funky Futon. The service was professional, friendly and speedy as previously. I upgraded the material which is lovely and this bed is perfect for my guest room. Amazing quality.
I bought these for our spare room with the better mattress. The service this company gives is exceptional; when I rang to enquire I was immediately put through to someone actually involved in the manufacture who was able to give practical advice. The delivery was prompt and the beds expertly put together. Oh, and they are comfortable and good looking. Altogether an unusually good experience.
Super product from great company
Totally agree with Alicia (review of Nov15) The stackable store bed is fantastic for our new loft conversion. Comfy to sit on and very easily separable into two single beds. They are really comfy as guest beds and were easy to put together. Support from FunkyFuton was great - they answered my questions informatively and helped brilliantly when I had to change the delivery plan. Highly recommend both product and company

Fantastic product - really works. Comfortable and stylish. The lift of easily and there are castors that do not scratch the floor and easy to move around. I use mine as beds when people come over but use it as a day sofa the rest of the time. I couldn't be happier - Andrew delivered and assembled the beds and communication was great. Highly recommended!
